Sick Child Guidelines
If your child needs Tylenol in the morning in order to come to school he/she needs to stay 全民双色球旧版下载 for 24 hours.
If your child has vomited since dinner, he/she needs to stay 全民双色球旧版下载 another 24 hours. This is in order to keep the children around them healthy and not to spread germs. Please remember to phone the health office to call your child in sick.
Flu Guide for Parents and Students from School Nurses
Our school nurses would like to remind everyone we are entering cold and flu season. Below are everyday precautions to minimize the risks.
- Regular hand washing with soap and water, especially before eating
- Keeping hands away from your eyes, nose and mouth
- Covering coughs

- Be extra vigilant if you or your child have a chronic respiratory disease such as asthma, or are immunocompromised
Physical Exams and Screenings
In accordance with New York State Law, physical examinations are required for all students in grades kindergarten, two, four, seven, ten and all students new to the district. Students may elect to have the examination in school by the school physician. Forms are available in the Health Office.
According to NY State Law, in order to administer medication, school nurses must have a written request from a doctor giving the frequency and dosage of medications, the condition for which it is prescribed, and a completed authorization form from the parent/guardian. Forms are available in the health office.
Medication (prescription or nonprescription) must be given by a parent directly to the school nurse. Students may NOT carry medicine in school at any time. All medication (prescription or non-prescription) is to be brought to the school nurse by an adult. Children are not allowed by state regulations to carry medication in the school setting unless the proper paperwork is completed (signed by a physician) and the nurse is aware.
2. If your child is sent 全民双色球旧版下载 with a fever, from school they are not to return the following day. They must be fever free for 24 hours without medication in order to return. If you have any questions call the Health Office at 279-4600, ext. 2012 from 8:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
Emergency Information Card
Emergency information cards on file in the school nurse’s office have parents’ 全民双色球旧版下载 and work telephone numbers, doctors’ names and numbers and persons to be contacted in emergencies if parents cannot be reached. These are also required in order for a child to leave the building on a field trip.
It is vitally important that you keep the nurse’s office apprised of any changes in address, telephone numbers, places of employment, and persons to be contacted in case of emergency. In medical emergencies, schools may only give first aid and must be able to contact someone who can make vital decisions about medical care. Sending a child to the hospital REQUIRES parental consent.
Emergency cards are also helpful when students must be dismissed form school unexpectedly. If the child cannot be released to one parent because of custody arrangements, please notify the nurse.
Students arriving at 8:55 a.m. or later must be accompanied into school and signed in by an adult.
Whenever a student is absent, parents are requested to call the Health Office (279-4600, ext. 2012) prior to 9 a.m. After that time, a call will be made to the 全民双色球旧版下载 of any child who is absent and has not yet called in. New York State Law mandates that a note signed by the parent or guardian be sent to the school explaining the nature of each absence IN ADDITION to calling the Health Office on the date of the absence.
Parents are encouraged to schedule student visits to doctors/dentists after school hours. In the event that this is unavoidable, students are expected to bring a note from the doctor/dentist upon returning to school.
